Kader Sylla | "Weak Sauce" Part

Via Thrasher Magazine, "We could tell you that Kader is the future, but that would be an injustice, because he’s killing it RIGHT NOW. Looking forward to watching this guy shred for many years to come..."

Birdwell X RVCA V2

RVCA joins forces with Birdwell for their second limited collection of classic beachwear, blending the creativity and artistic expression of two American-apparel pioneers. RVCA founder, PM Tenore, and Birdwell creative director, Natas Kaupas, worked to design a line that is true to both brands’ vision and aesthetic. The merging of ideas from two great creative minds gives way to a timeless collaboration.

This updated collection takes inspiration from race cars and fighter planes, the highlight piece of the collection is the Warbird 18 Trunk. Only 250 of these trunks were made — logos, trims and patterns were a mash up of ideas that resulted in a special trunk, like no other. They are hand-signed and numbered by Tenore and Kaupas.

The rest of the collection takes prints and branding from the Warbird 18 trunk with a more subtle approach to build out a well-rounded line that will attract any surf or style enthusiast. The collection will be available at specialty surf retailers starting on April 1st and at RVCA.COM. The collection will also be showcased at Ron Robinson in Santa Monica on April 12th, 2018 at their “Festival Styling” event.

Facing the world’s DEADLIEST wave | Forgiving Pipeline

Via Red Bull

Amber Mozo is a 22-year-old photographer born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu. As the daughter of legendary surf photographer Jon Mozo, a former fixture in the lineups along the famed North Shore, Amber was raised with a love for both the ocean and photography.

Jon Mozo passed away while shooting photos in the water at Pipeline — he was 33 years old. Amber was only 9. Soon after her father’s passing, Amber picked up a camera and her photographic journey began.

While photography has taken Amber all around the world, shooting some of the most beautiful known surf breaks, until this winter, she hadn’t yet swam out into the lineup that stole her father’s life — Pipeline. This winter, however, under the tutelage of fellow North Shore surf photographer, Zak Noyle, Amber swam into the Pipeline lineup for the very first time during the 2018 Volcom Pipe Pro.

Pumps In The Trunks | VASF Photography Exhibition

The opening reception for The Pumps In The Trunk photography exhibition was Friday, March 16th at the RVCA San Francisco flagship store. It was a fun event that brought people together around one of California’s oldest passions. Natalie Aleman, Matthew Bajda, Emmanuel Blackwell, Nick Jasso, and Rully each shared a personal view of their love of cars and the communities surrounding that passion. The raffle at the end of the night was a success in which people could walk away with prints of their own, and one lucky winner won a camera -- our hopes are that prize will inspire them to start shooting photos.

Special thanks to Tim Diet for providing the soundtrack for the evening, Pabst Blue Ribbon for the cold ones, and the crew at RVCA VASF.
