RVCA at ART IN THE STREETS


Just prior to the show’s closing, the RVCA staff was graciously given a private guided tour of Art In The Streets by gallery director, Jeffrey Deitch and ANP Quarterly Editor, Aaron Rose. With so many RVCA ANP contributors in the show, it was an amazing opportunity to see their work displayed on a stage of this scale.

RVCA had the opportunity to help support the most significant gallery show in the history of street art to date. Art In The Streets has recently opened in the MOCA in Los Angeles and features the work of several RVCA ANP artists. The Museum of Contemporary Art presents Art in the Streets, the first major U.S. museum exhibition of the history of graffiti and street art. The exhibition will trace the development of graffiti and street art from the 1970s to the global movement it has become today, concentrating on key cities where a unique visual language or attitude has evolved. Following MOCA’s presentation, the exhibition will travel to the Brooklyn Museum, where it will be on view March 30–July 8, 2012.

Barry McGee Retrospective 2012

The University of California’s Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive has been awarded a $100,000 grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts for a Barry McGee retrospective exhibition in 2012.
