INTRODUCING TAMARA WAITE SANTIBANEZ

I live in Brooklyn, New York where I make things with my hands- tattoos, prints, wood carvings, drawings, and paintings, to name my favorites.  I studied printmaking, which instilled in me a deep appreciation for technique, tradition, craft, and skilled labor, the things that ended up leading me to tattooing.  For me tattooing and printmaking share the cornerstones of honest “making”.  A profound love and dedication is required for both, and they’re not for everyone.  Both carry a complex and intriguing history, and have been the realm of craftspeople, rabble-rousers, and cutty individuals at one point or another.  Corners cut are glaringly apparent in both mediums, and neither can be mastered without hours of dedication.

Apart from a “nose-to-the-grindstone” ethos, I am driven by my continued efforts to mesh my Mexican-American heritage with my punk rock subcultural roots, the infinite possibilities of a brush and black ink, Robert Williams’s “Appetite for Destruction” album cover, Teen Angels and nationalistic Mexican icons, and photos of girls with shaved heads at Cro-Mags shows circa 1989.

INTRODUCING YUDI ELA ECHEVARRIA

I was born and raised in Santa Ana, California, where my parents came to live from their home of Peru. Junior High is where I first discovered photography and dark room printing. That lead me to school in San Francisco where I developed more than just photographs. I became obsessed with exploring in the city and eventually began to venture out to different parts of the state and the world. Since I left San Francisco, I have been living from couch to couch in Barcelona, New York, and in Los Angeles where I am currently working and exploring as a photographer.

INTRODUCING MARGAUX ARRAMON-TUCOO

My Name is Margaux Arramon- Tucoo , I am a  20 year-old French human. I spend my time traveling, surfing and painting. I grew up in Biarritz, France in front of the ocean, and in my mom’s arty workshop. People inspire my soul and I travel to feed my mind in the sea and on Earth. I am close to nature and passionate with all that humans have to share at their purest state. I am thankfull to have two hands and observating eyes with which I can create with no limitations. Clear soul, Balance and Grace are my major words .

The future means thousands of minds connecting with each other, understanding from where they come from, what do they belong to and where are they going . Those minds are ONE, writting an essay, and trying to produce the most beautiful piece. Don’t try to make an imperfect and pure earth become perfect, try to balance it, future to me is the search of a imperfect perfection.
This vegetative Universe opens likea flower from the Earth’s center in which is Eternity, it needs sun and rain.
- Margaux
