It’s the release of his new print “Bone Trot” – a 15″x12″ giclée with hand-painted colors. Available in four editions of 10.
What Matt had to say about this print:
” I’ve always had little skeleton dudes that I called family members of messengers of death in my work. These two are little benign ones as they are not old enough to posses a working death card and just frolic about and act as nosy children do.” – Matt Gordon

The work is by Gusmano Cesaretti, a name that is possibly unknown to some of you, but he’s seriously one of my favorite photographers. There’s an amazing story as to how I came across this work, but I won’t
go into it here. Let’s just say that Gusmano has an amazing repertoire of
documentary images going back to the early 1970′s that are some of the
most wonderful images I’ve seen in my life.
The images showing this weekend represent two distinct periods in his
oeuvre. The main gallery contains a series of one of a kind large-scale
prints taken in East Los Angeles in 1973-1974 and printed at the same
time. In the project space we are showing a body of work he shot in
Panama a few years ago. Both sets of images are quite extra-ordinary.
We were lucky enough to involve Gusmano Cesaretti in our recent Art In
The Streets exhibition at MoCA over the Summer, but this wil mark his first
real solo exhibition since these images were originally exhibited in the
1970′s. For that reason alone this is worth checking out. I really hope
you can make it!!!
Happy 2012
Aaron
