Hello, I’m Kylea Borges, a San Francisco based collage artist ending my career as a twenty something. When I’m not cultivating my carpal tunnel cutting paper, I spend my days staring out my back window at an ugly parking lot thinking of ways to move to the woods. Sometimes I make it out into the world where you can find me thrifting for old lady loafers, oversized sweaters and ceramics that look like they were made by someone’s mother in the 70′s. One day I will start a black metal commune in the forest and you will all be invited.
Moonbeams,
Kylea

THIS Is Us – Farley, Weiss, Van Hoy
RVCA | VASF Gallery teams up with the owners of THIS Los Angeles (Aaron Farley, Claire & Jeremy Weiss, Justin Van Hoy) for their first group show with all the members since the gallery’s inception in 2010. Christopher Bettig installed a new window display for the shows opening.
The opening night was a huge success! Packed house, cops were called, and Cool Ghouls and Pink Films live performances were amazing! Definitely bummed if you missed it.
Here are some shots of the gallery and opening night. Swing by the store and check it out in real life.

Christopher Bettig recently put up a new installation at the RVCA in San Francisco, consisting of all kinds of woods and rope. I love that Chris can take the most ramshackle of materials and make something beautiful out of them. When I look at this particular installation, he did a similar one for J Crew last year, it almost looks like it could all fall apart at any second. It looks almost like a bunch of hippies took too much peyote and decided to make a structure out of everything they could find… and I like that. There’s honesty to his work, it’s an expression of his abstract mind. I think it’s also worth mentioning that Chris has a day job at Google, and I’m sure it was good for him to make something physical again. If you’re in SF you should stop by and check it out.
