This past Saturday night witnessed the greatly anticipated opening of Ed Templeton’s show, ‘Map Of The Inner War’ and Matt Leines “The Great Gates of Zenith” at LA’s Roberts & Tilton gallery, newly relocated in Culver City.
Map of The Inner War - Ed Templeton saturates the gallery with over 250 new works including painting, sculpture, photography, and works on paper. Templeton documents his life, and the lives of the people around him, in a rich stream of images.
The Great Gates of Zenith - Consisting of all new works on paper Matt Leines imagines a futuristic world in which his creatures dwell. The overwhelming theme of “wonder” present throughout is reminiscent of the feelings evoked by scientific advances exhibited at Worlds’ Fairs at the turn of the twentieth century, when people were not yet jaded by such discoveries, and still fascinated by what might lie over the next hill, or who may be encountered down the next alley.
Definitely a moment to savor – we salute you Ed and Matt!
If you missed the opening, be sure to drop by the gallery to check it out.
Open until December 13th 2008.

it’s raining so i’m not going to the grocery store.

ok, after dinner i’ll poke around.
i have a funny story though, yesterday when i was mountain biking on my local trail i came upon a little too closely to a buck, no more than five feet away, pretty scary but the shitty part was that he was in the process of marking his territory and i had no choice but to ride through it. it was like thirty degree’s so i got a deer love juice steam shower. the other worst part was that i was only two miles in to a six mile loop and had to smell it the whole time.
so after 17 years of cross country racing this was the craziest season for me i got chased by a turkey, crashed too many times, broke my seat post( that brought tears to my eyes) and now got the natural musk scent. oh and the other week i saw a one antlered deer while riding hung over and had a full blown hallucination that it was a unicorn. i’m sad that the riding season is near the end. i was a child of the woods this year.
