Ed Templeton: Deformer
Over eleven years in the making and compiling more than 30 years worth of material, Alleged Press announces the publication of Deformer, a multi-media scrapbook of Ed Templeton’s upbringing in suburban Orange County, CA. Entirely art-directed by Templeton himself, it gives a glimpse of what it is like to be young and alive in what Templeton refers to as “the suburban domestic incubator”. Deformer intertwines photographs, paintings, drawings, sketchbook pages, disciplinary letters from his grandfather and religious notes from his mother into a narrative of teenage isolation and social criticism. Available September 2008.

Matt Leines: You Are Forgiven
Appropriating design motifs from various cultures and time periods, Matt Leines creates a fantastical world filled with mythical beasts and supernatural men. His illustrative style incorporates both Western and non-Western aesthetic, with subjects ornamented in dress and tools, seemingly from another time. The catalogue is a comprehensive collection of his most recent works done in watercolor, ink and graphite. You Are Forgiven is published by Free News Projects. Available October 2008.

TIM HENDRICKS “adventures on the road”

“So Oliver Peck called me up and says(with a Texan draw), “Tim! come out and tattoo people on the Warped Tour in my RV, it’ll be a blast!”. Basically, Oliver Peck, the world record holder for the most tattoos in 24 hours, has a whole tattoo shop on wheels. He travels with the Warped Tour tattooing musicians and employees of the Warped Tour and randoms we meet along the road, it’s such a sweet setup. We tattoo all day, listen to great music, skate the mini-ramp, and canoodle with barely legal scantly clad cuties in a different city everyday. I’m basically in heaven. I thought RVCA might like to hear about my adventures on the road, who knows how long it will last…” Tim Hendricks
