Los Angeles / June 30th to July 6th

A tree fell in Echo Park this week. It blocked Jessica’s street and crushed a car.

We had a blast climbing all over it and rejoicing in nature’s constant triumph over man.

Then we all went to see Werner Herzog’s new film. Highly recommended by the way. Later that night we all sat down at our favorite secret dining spot in Little Tokyo for some intense conversation about music, love, life and the state of the world.

I started painting a new suitcase this week.

I met Kenneth Anger too.

We pulled out the old LD…

and me and Rita Ross went for a little scoot!

On Friday the gang met up in Chinatown for a party at Ooga Booga.

The chick behind this bunny is seriously one of my favorite people in the world.

On Saturday me and Cali went to visit Little Nate at Family.

Then Hopper came over and we decided to put our money where our mouths are and make a zine.

It’s called WAR AND PEACE and there are only five copies in the world! It contains photos, drawings and never before read texts by both of us. We decided whoever writes in with the best reason why they should have one will get one sent to them in the mail. Can’t wait!

Los Angeles, CA / June 22nd to June 29th

I painted a dumpster this week. Notice the brick theme. This has been a recurring motif in my life as of late. Stacking bricks and figuring out how to knock them down. Even though this photo isn’t in color, these particular bricks are green, of the floral foam variety.

Finn in a box. Much time was spent this week in the alley behind Undefeated working on a mural, this box became our default nap area.

This is Joy, our trusted helper on the project. Here she is admiring some of the latest handywork.

Keith Scharwath, genius graphic designer and all around “make it happen” guy.

Look who’s here from Paris!! Sylvie!…and boy does she love American supermarkets.

Jessica Hopper did a reading at Hope Gallery. It’s always great to see your friends shine at what they do.

All that alley painting earlier in the week was in honor of a bbq we held on Sunday. It was a shoe drive for a community center in East LA hosted by these dudes…The Allmighty Gents of Desire. This is an extremely rare photo, possibly never to be taken again. Archive it.

The throw down. A great way to spend a Sunday. warmed even the most melancholy heart.
